How fast is your memory?

The title did just get you thinking about some memory test, right? Well, it is except it is your laptop or desktop PC's memory I am talking about. While laptops are easily the preferred choice everywhere, desktop PCs are still in use at large amount of places.Yes, people still use desktop PCs! Silly, isn't it? So, how often have you wondered as to why is your laptop so bulky or why does it get heated up so fast? Probably you must have thought ..Man, the Mac Book Air is pretty slim! How did they actually make it so slim and light weight?? ..Well, as they say there's science behind everything. I am not going to bore you with the science related stuff behind memories, but shall definitely try to show which one should you prefer and why.

Image result for hdd       So, let's start with a laptop you own right now. Did you notice a thing called HDD in your laptop specs while buying it? If you did notice you might have as well skipped the part where you actually knew how would it affect your laptop, right? If you didn't, well..wouldn't have made much difference! HDD is basically Hardware Disk Drive. Okay, quite a heavy full form, isn't it? Let me take you back to the time when CDs were being used heavily everywhere. Back then, you would check for scratches on your CD and then would try to run it on your PC, remember those days? All your music, videos, movies, files would be stored into so many CDs and you would maintain a rack for them and probably had your own collection! Okay, so my point was to just make you feel good about CDs,in general because that is still one of the most important things we have ever come across. Having done that, imagine that a hundred of them stacked one above the other. Each with an average capacity of about 1Gb... So that would mean you would be getting 100Gb memory! Such an awesome yet simple trick right? Don't actually try this..it is just for your imagination! So, now you get what's my point. Yes, that's how your HDD is actually packed, except that the ones present in it are more compact and faster. And that is exactly why they are bulkier as the capacity grows. Imagine how difficult it would be to pack HDD for 100TB in the future! Yes, that day is not far. Latest laptops do sport memory capacities of 2TB.

Image result for ssd Now, as well know tech guys are really smart. So, they figured this issue quite early and they thought this kind of tech is outdated. We got to use something which is new! So, they thought why not stack hundreds of pen drives instead of CDs? Seems legit? Pen drives have become as small as your thumbnails, so they might as well be used  in collection for storing large amount of data. Well, that my friends is SSD for you! Yes, SSD! Heard of it right? SSD stands for Solid State Drive. It just uses a very similar method used in HDD except they use Flash memories(pen drives) for stacking. Now, forget all this SSD stuff and get back to your imagination....Imagine you replace stack of CDs with small thumbnail pen drives....How compact and faster would that be! I bet you never thought of such an idea. Well, tech guys are sneaky and smart! You might have figured by now, that SSDs are used in Mac Air and that's exactly why they are so slim! All of this sounds good and exciting, but it does come with a price, literally and not so literally. Literally because it does cost way more than HDD and not so literally because the capacity offered is also not as much as offered by HDDs. Fortunately, both these issues are being resolve rapidly. More people buying SSDs--->Cost is reducing. Tech guys becoming smarter---> Higher capacities being reached.  So, soon there would be a tough competition between these two guys and you guys pretty well now that the underdog now will become the winner later.

I guess you have enough info to be able to make a decision when it comes to memories. SSDs are slim and fast but expensive as of now. HDDs have high capacities but comparatively slower and cheaper. There's always new tech popping out from various parts of the globe. So, hold to your sweets you might as well see a new entry to this competition who could put you even more dilemma. But, don't worry I will be there to make your dilemma go away in minutes as and when it rises. I might sound like anti-tech-dilemma super hero ,but you know where to come where you need help. That being said, keep exploring the tech world guys, there's always interesting ..amazing..super cool stuff happening out there and who knows one day you might be the inventor of one of those things and I would be talking about it in  my blog. Cheers!

Don't think about Buying Tablet in 2020! They are going to be Dead!

Remember the time when the "mobile" phones were not "smart" yet and had this really compact form factor with durability such that they can only be destroyed by some natural calamity ? Yep, those times were not far from today ..just a decade ago and we didn't have to think about the phone falling off a cliff, or catching fire or trampled under a car or drowned into a sea! Then there was this highly delicate and expensive loner phone called the "iPhone" which required such extreme care, for you wouldn't be able to afford its maintenance! This phone was one of the first ones to start a trend of increasing the display size over the year and that led to hilarious memes as below Being mocked by their competition only strengthened their move and Apple went onto release the iPhone 11 Pro Max or Max Pro (whatever!) which was 6.5 inch long and was close enough to the prediction in the memes. This time it wasn't getting mocked but was ...

How to Pair Huawei Watch GT2 with Any Headphones within 1 min - the Perfect Hack

The Smartwatch and wearables industry has seen the biggest spike in 2019-2020 time frame. Starting off with Apple Airpods to may other brands trying to mimic the design and provide low cost alternatives the users have graciously welcomed each and every product in the line. There is a fan base for the neckband type, another base for the "TWS" (Truly Wireless) Earbuds and there's altogether separate base for the Wireless Headphones category. Then we saw an upsurge in the health monitoring wearable devices which was popularized by Fitbit and then in the last couple of years by Apple and Xiaomi. The current market has many players and there's no clear winner in terms of market share for the smartwatches / health monitoring wearables. Huawei has somehow missed the train and joined in late for the party. But as they say in Hindi - " Der aaye Durust Aaye .. "  which means - Came in Later But in a mint condition .. Huawei launched its first smartwatch the...

Sony can well be termed as the "Lazarus"  for coming back from the dead - quite literally.
