Beware of this SCAM loaded with 5 star Reviews

 Off late, there have been many groups across the globe who are targeting new tech by claiming them to be harmful to humans/animals/environment. One can argue the glaring hypocrisy in those allegations, but let's just give them benefit of doubt and check basic things an 8th grader would know too! One of the most popular claims are those of "ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIO FREQUENCY SKIN PIERCING ULTRAHIGH BANDWIDTH SUPER NOVA" radiations emitted by electronic items ,especially the mobile phones. (Hope you get the sarcasm intended, if not well read ahead) There's a bit of science involved for sure in the radiations emitted and they are in the range 1000 times lesser than the microwave region. 

The Technical Stuff

The typical microwave region is in the order of 1000 GHz , but the radio waves being used in smartphone or wifi or in general electronics is less than 100 GHz. Even 5G frequency lies max at 60 GHz (mmWave) and most of the remaining 5G and earlier generations lie less than 10 GHz. That goes on to say that the intensity of these frequencies is much lesser than the frequencies that would cause serious harm upon exposure for "high" duration. So, first thing is even for micro waves to cause serious damage to human skin , the human would have to be exposed for long duration of time. And secondly, micro waves cannot pierce the skin which means your internal organs would still be relatively safe. The SCAM!

With all the technical stuff out of the way, I want to draw your attention to the scam that is being pulled by a group of people who want to take advantage of general public who may be misinformed or apprehensive of emerging technologies. These so called Radiation Harmonizers are nothing but plain stickers being sold at exorbitant prices to innocent consumers like us! The tons of positive reviews are just paid reviews or bot reviews which are very prevalent in modern day e commerce sites. Even if these products tend to make you feel secure, it's merely a fact of placebo and nothing that product is doing special. Yes, there are general tiredness or headaches or body aches which most of us generally experience, but the cause could be something different. These products make use of the little doubt that we have at the back of our minds that 'all these modern day gadgets are causing me harm' and amplify it by saying ' Yes you are absolutely right! There's no way you are wrong'. This is what is called as "Confirmation Bias" and this exists in our day to day life and not specific to health related reasons. We tend to find sources that agree with our notions and then amplify on them even though they may be factually wrong. 

What you can try Doing ?

It's always better to consult a medical practitioner and have a checkup for health related issues than rely on these uncertified bogus products just because we are afraid of the outcome of the checkup. It's simple thing right - is it better to know your enemy or just be hopeful that there's no enemy ? Think about it and let me know in the comments below :)
